Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Walker Mathis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bob Tung!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Alyssa Summers and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathis tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Tung counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Mathis!

Tung tries for a kimura but Mathis is defending well.

Tung is trying to get an arm triangle but Mathis is defending well.
Mathis can't do much from the bottom here.

Tung is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mathis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Tung jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Mathis is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Mathis and Tung has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Tung tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tung has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mathis gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Tung is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Tung is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mathis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tung.

Tung is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mathis tries to get to full guard but Tung has control of the leg.

Tung seems to be working for a kimura but Mathis defends the submission attempt.

Mathis wants to improve his position but Tung is controlling well.

Tung is looking for a triangle but Mathis pushes his legs off easily.

Mathis controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Mathis seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tung for as long as he can get away with.
Mathis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tung on the ground.
Mathis working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Tung's head.

Mathis has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Tung to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Mathis is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Tung pulls down on the head and he's put Mathis to sleep! This one is all over!

Bob Tung made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'Man, charles ribeiro that was the easiest fight of my life. Give me more of a challenge next time loser. Light work 🥱🥱🥱 should've just stayed home instead of fighting you'.
