The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sandoval pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Sobaka pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Sandoval lands with a hook. Sobaka tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Sobaka looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Sandoval throws a lazy uppercut
and Sobaka counters with a slapping leg kick.
Sobaka lands a head kick. Sandoval smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Sobaka bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Sandoval parries the strikes from Sobaka easily there. Sobaka is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Sandoval to escape.

Sobaka swings around for an armbar but Sandoval sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Sobaka's guard.
Sobaka on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sobaka tries to get out of the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sobaka is looking to cinch up a triangle. Sandoval throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Sobaka's body to avoid the submission. Sobaka has instead reached around Sandoval's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Sobaka arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Yoda looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! North has picked Yoda up and slammed him! Yoda can't keep hold of the triangle and North manages to pass to side control!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Yoda remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
North tries to buck Yoda off but Yoda is having none of it.

North connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Yoda's hands.
North fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Yoda manages to avoid it.

North looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Yoda seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down North for as long as he can get away with.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Arredondo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fisher sprawls well initially but Arredondo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Arredondo decides to stand up.
Arredondo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fisher's waist but Fisher gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Arredondo off to one side.
Fisher's coach down at Cozad MMA Montreal was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Fisher's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Arredondo is defended easily by Fisher.
Fisher steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Arredondo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Fisher counters with a left to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miguel Arredondo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A jab from Fisher finds it's way through Arredondo's defenses.

Fisher gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Arredondo tries to pull guard but Fisher forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Arredondo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fisher moves away.

Arredondo closes the distance and clinches up with Fisher, looking for a takedown. Arredondo pushes Fisher against the cage but Fisher circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Arredondo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fisher moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Arredondo misses with a takedown attempt - Fisher sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Arredondo has Fisher pressed against the cage, preventing Fisher from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Arredondo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Arredondo swats away the attempt to clinch by Fisher.
Arredondo gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Arredondo tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Fisher is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Arredondo buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Arredondo!! Arredondo is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Fisher throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anal Fisher!
