Jacobs tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but For Island wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Jacobs is being controlled here. Jacobs looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. For Island advances nicely into full mount. For Island cracks Jacobs with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vice shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dowling manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Vice with a flurry of punches that miss. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dowling is on top in guard.
Dowling got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vice has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dowling has managed to get both his arms back between Vice's legs - danger averted. Vice is looking for a triangle but Dowling pushes his legs off easily.
Dowling would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Vice working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dowling doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dowling manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Dowling wants to control from the top but Vice keeps moving. Dowling has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Vice is proving hard to escape from. Vice thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Dowling trying to control the position from guard on top but Vice is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Rodney cracks Island Crusher with a good jab. Rodney scores with a one two! Island Crusher had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Island Crusher will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Derek Rodney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Qfc Island Crusher.
