Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Demuss (ranked 21551 p4p, 5881 weight class) and Jugabu Batdorani (ranked 551 p4p, 516 weight class). Demuss's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck. Jugabu Batdorani told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jake Demuss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jugabu Batdorani!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batdorani has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Demuss finds it's way round the side to connect with Batdorani's head.
Batdorani fails with the takedown
and Demuss counters with a big head kick but Batdorani shrugs it off.
Jugabu Batdorani seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Batdorani shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Demuss counters with a head kick. That will keep Batdorani thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Batdorani misses with a takedown
and Demuss counters by moving into the clinch.
Jake Demuss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jugabu Batdorani.
Demuss has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head and Batdorani goes down! Demuss dives on top of him - Batdorani manages to get guard.
 Batdorani is rocked!
 It looks like Jugabu Batdorani has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Demuss working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Demuss sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Batdorani working for a triangle but Demuss defends it easily.

Demuss loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Batdorani is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Batdorani can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Demuss controls the pace.
Demuss pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Batdorani is keeping the position for now.
Demuss seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Batdorani is trying to keep Demuss in close.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Demuss stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Demuss wants it to stay on the feet.
Demuss throws a quick counter kick to the body but Batdorani avoids it.

Batdorani takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

and Demuss counters with a big head kick but Batdorani shrugs it off.
Batdorani misses with a takedown attempt
and Demuss counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Demuss drops Batdorani with a straight right hand, right on the button! Demuss follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jake Demuss!
After winning the bout, Jake Demuss thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

Shrute tries for a takedown but Anderson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Shrute fails with the takedown
and Anderson counters with a stiff right hand.
Anderson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Shrute throws a series of punches but Anderson avoids them all with ease.
A little feinted left hand from Anderson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Shrute looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Shrute walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Shrute is rocked!
Anderson punishes Shrute's body with a nice straight punch.
Shrute is still on wobbly legs! Can Anderson finish him?
Shrute looks winded!
Anderson lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Shrute is looking to close the distance but Anderson sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Shrute crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Shrute is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Sparky Anderson!
Sparky Anderson took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.

Virgulino Ferreira Da Silva really struggled with his weight cut for this fight. After coming in at 174.8, he had two hours to cut the additional weight. He was unable to do so and as a result, his fight with Corwin Anstey was cancelled.
So, because the bout was cancelled, Corwin Anstey retains his title. |
