Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nirmal Singh (ranked 3064 p4p, 4546 weight class) and Nico Lin (ranked 307 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Nirmal Singh has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Nirmal Singh seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Singh closes the distance and clinches.
Lin looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Singh digs a right hand underneath Lin's ribcage. Lin let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Lin is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Singh pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Singh has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Lin regains guard immediately.
Our spies down at at The Purpose Martial Arts Academy inform us that Lin has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Singh controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Singh postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Singh sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lin's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Lin seems a little lost for a moment, as Singh dominates the positioning.

Singh seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lin for as long as he can get away with.

Nirmal Singh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Singh forces Lin back against the cage and clinches.

Singh jumps guard and drags Lin to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Singh seems keen to control Lin's posture.

Singh has his foot on Lin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lin works his way back into a safe position though.
Singh tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Singh is pulling down on Lin's head. It's preventing any offense from Lin, at least for the moment.

Lin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Singh manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lin has Singh in his guard.

Singh has closed the distance and engaged Lin in a clinch.

Singh has picked Lin up - he's going for a ride! Singh dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Still in half guard, Singh seems content to control.
Singh continues to stall.
Lin wants to get back to full guard.
Lin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Singh is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lin can do to turn this around?
Singh connects with an inside leg kick.
Singh throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Singh drops Lin with a beautiful combination! Lin stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Singh is looking for the KO!

Lin is rocked!

Singh rushes Lin and presses him up against the cage.
Lin is still on wobbly legs! Can Singh finish him?

Singh is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Lin can't fight it off and eventually Singh manages to take the fight to the floor. Lin looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Singh would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
