The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leeuwenhoek throws a leg kick that misses.

Leeuwenhoek fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Vargas has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

A looping hook to the body misses from Vargas. Leeuwenhoek does a little dance to reset his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Vargas counters with a crisp one two that drops Leeuwenhoek! Vargas thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Leeuwenhoek to his feet! Leeuwenhoek is in big trouble!

Vargas walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Leeuwenhoek drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Vargas swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Leeuwenhoek's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Montana (ranked 382 p4p, 534 weight class) and Luke Ridley (ranked 48 p4p, 68 weight class). Ridley comes into a darkened arena with his song building. No Shelter/ Rage Against The Machine kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Montana gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Montana is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Ridley to keep the fight standing.

Ridley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Montana darts in and clinches Ridley up against the cage.
Montana keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ridley's efforts to push away.

Montana has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ridley can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Montana had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ridley defends it easily.

Montana has his foot on Ridley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ridley works his way back into a safe position though.
