0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, joze rizal! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.
![](https://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/round1.jpg) The bell rings for round one and we are underway! perform fails in his attempt to clinch. perform tries a low kick but rizal avoids it. perform could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. rizal changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. perform tries to avoid it but rizal manages to keep hold of a leg and drag perform to the ground. perform escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. perform throws a series of punches but rizal moves out of range. rizal showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from perform.
The fight stays on the outside here - perform looks like he's thinking about clinching though. perform gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and rizal counters with a single leg into guard. perform didn't expect that. perform is trying to control the position but rizal postures up. rizal stays in close to perform's body and controls the position.

I looks like rizal might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
perform has his foot on rizal's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. rizal works his way back into a safe position though. rizal controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

and rizal counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. perform might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed perform's guard. perform is looking for a sweep. rizal is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. perform is breathing heavily. rizal is controlling the pace.
Let's hope that rizal has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. rizal slips nicely into half guard. rizal slows the pace down in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and rizal counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by rizal. rizal slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. perform looking to hit a scissor sweep but rizal is one step ahead there.

joze rizal showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

and rizal counters with a nice double leg into side control. perform won't be happy with that. lolit perform has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! rizal is staying tight to perform's torso, preventing him from escaping.
And that's the end of the fight! joze rizal comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got rizal winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Gordon comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Last resort kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Hodges gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Hodges keeping moving, preventing Gordon from controlling successfully. Gordon controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Hodges looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gordon is one step ahead there. Hodges keeping full guard, as Gordon tries to pass. Hodges is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Gordon trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Hodges manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Hodges got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gordon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hodges has managed to get both his arms back between Gordon's legs - danger averted. Hodges stops Gordon from standing up.

Gordon shoots in looking for a takedown. Hodges tries to sprawl out of it but Gordon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hodges manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Hodges moves in looking to clinch but Gordon pushes him off. Gordon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hodges sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gordon. Dana Hodges has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Grant Gordon. Gordon looks gassed! Gordon takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gordon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hodges sprawls well. Hodges wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gordon gets slowly back to his feet. Gordon dives in and grabs Hodges's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hodges pushes down on Gordon's head and hops out. A left and a right from Hodges both land. Nice combination.
Hodges bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Hodges in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Hodges scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Gordon to see if he's OK.
Hodges is trying to get an arm triangle but Gordon is defending well. Gordon struggling a bit here. Hodges is chipping away with strikes.

Hodges has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hodges trying to control from the bottom.
Gordon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hodges does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Gordon content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Hodges is staying active underneath Gordon, who seems content to just control the action from this position. and Hodges counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Gordon wants to get back to his feet. Hodges looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gordon with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Hodges landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Hodges seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Hodges wants to finish this one by submission but Gordon is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hodges. Hodges unloads with some shots from mount but Gordon bucks and avoids them well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gordon is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Grant Gordon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dana Hodges is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hodges cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that's the end of the fight! Dana Hodges showed his dominance in that final round. Well Hodges has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
