Cuchi slips under a jab.

Cuchi has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Laguera is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Laguera fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Cuchi.

Laguera throws a sloppy head kick and Cuchi moves out of range easily.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tovar keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Ayo Kakongkong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tovar tries to move into range but Kakongkong moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Kakongkong really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A big left from Kakongkong misses.
Tovar throws a series of strikes that have Kakongkong backpedaling.
Kakongkong throws out a leg kick but Tovar moves out of range and Kakongkong only half commits.
Tovar unleashes a big counter combination but Kakongkong bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Tovar ducks straight into an uppercut from Kakongkong and tumbles to the canvas! Its a flash knockdown though - Tovar manages to regain guard straight away.

It looks like Francisco Tovar has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tovar is still in real trouble! Can Kakongkong finish him?
Tovar wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Tovar seems to have recovered his senses.
Let's hope that Tovar has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Tovar is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Kakongkong frees his head nicely. Oh but Tovar has switched to an armbar! Kakongkong is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Piekny changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Law looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
You can see the frustration on Law's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Piekny wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Law, who protects the arm well.

Piekny is working to tighten his grip on Law's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Law has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Piekny is really squeezing tight and eventually Law passes out! Piekny breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
