The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tovar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Tovar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Thibodeaux is looking for a sweep.
Tovar controls the position from side control.
Thibodeaux is trying to control Tovar's posture but Tovar avoids it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thibodeaux regains half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thibodeaux manages to get to full guard.
Thibodeaux has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tovar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Tovar wants to pass the guard but Thibodeaux is keeping the position.
Thibodeaux has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Tovar doesn't defend quickly enough and Thibodeaux has managed to lock this one up! Can Tovar escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Thibodeaux on a fantastic submission victory.
