Morales lands a big right hand that sends Grant crashing to the mat! Morales stays standing though and waves Grant back to his feet!

Grant does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
It looked like Morales wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tanaka shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Green's guard.

Green has hold of Tanaka's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Tanaka manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Green scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Tanaka manages to mount him!

Tanaka throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Green because Tanaka loaded up on that one.
Tanaka takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tanaka has control of Green's left arm, preventing Green from doing any damage.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tanaka is on top in guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Tanaka slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

A slow jab from Tanaka misses its intended target.
Tanaka throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Green sees it coming and avoids it easily.
It looked like Green was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Green seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Tanaka lands with a hook. Green tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Tanaka throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Green tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tanaka is in Green's guard.
Tanaka passes Green's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Green tries to roll over but Tanaka keeps him under control.
Green looks like he's trying to stand up.

Green wants to sweep but Tanaka has passed to side control!
Green wants to get back to his feet but Tanaka is dominant here and he's now got Green's back!

Tanaka is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Green knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Green for a finish.
Tanaka tries to get the hooks in deep but Green pushed the leg off.

Green is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Tanaka has good solid back control here.
Tanaka gets his hands free as Green looks to control.
Tanaka lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Tanaka.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
I would not like to be Green right now.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Daichi Tanaka showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Tanaka looks to throw the jab but Green is out of range.
Green moves out of range as Tanaka strikes.
Green tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Tanaka manages to circle out of the way.
Tanaka lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Green circles away quickly and effectively.

Green gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Tanaka seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Green is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Green is looking for a kimura but Tanaka is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Green to get the leverage.

Xu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mahpants Jr manages to avoid it.

As Xu backs away, Mahpants Jr returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

James Xu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rios lands a head kick. Santos smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Santos's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Santos duly obliges.

Santos sends Rios crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Santos is motioning to the referee to let Rios up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Rios is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A head kick misses from Rios.
Santos is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Oh Rios is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rios gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Santos points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Rios wakes up just in time to hear Santos thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Triston Santos!
Triston Santos was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
