Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gregory Ingram! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frederick Cabrera! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jonathan Paton and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ingram shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ingram was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Cabrera tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ingram wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Ingram definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Ingram is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Cabrera will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Ingram prevents Cabrera from escaping the position. Cabrera is trying to get back to half guard. Cabrera struggling a bit here. Cabrera really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ingram. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cabrera throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
You can see the frustration on Cabrera's face as Ingram controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ingram seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cabrera for as long as he can get away with. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Cabrera stops Ingram from passing to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ingram moves into full mount! Cabrera has given up his back.
Ingram is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Cabrera. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cabrera tries to break free.
Ingram has his arm under Cabrera's chin here. Game over son! Ingram squeezes tightly and Cabrera is forced to tap out!
