Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Lucio Dos Santos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Khalil Rivers! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dos Santos fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rivers sprawls well initially but Dos Santos persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Dos Santos is trying to control the action in half guard but Rivers is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Dos Santos is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rivers doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dos Santos. Rivers wants to control but Dos Santos is keeping busy.
Dos Santos passes the guard and advances to mount! Dos Santos looking to control and managing it successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dos Santos prevents Rivers from getting the reversal. Dos Santos controlling the pace for now. Dos Santos's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dante Drayman! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drayman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Delluze pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Drayman back to the cage. Delluze follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Delluze getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Delluze slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Drayman loads up on a big right hand but Delluze slips the punch. The fighters circle momentarily. Delluze darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Delluze scores with a body shot.
Delluze avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Delluze sizes up Drayman with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Drayman's jab looks to have found its range, popping Delluze under the eye. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Drayman moves out of range of the strikes. Delluze scores with a nice head shot. A looping hook to the body misses from Drayman. Delluze does a little dance to reset his feet. Delluze went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Delluze is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Delluze stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Drayman gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Drayman misses with a wild body shot. Drayman lands with a nice body punch. Drayman changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Delluze is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. A looping hook to the body misses from Delluze. Drayman does a little dance to reset his feet. Delluze scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Drayman misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Delluze.

Delluze fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Delluze takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Oh Delluze is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Drayman swings for the body but Delluze moves out of range.
Delluze seems to have got his legs back now. Drayman scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Delluze doesn't seem bothered though. Delluze is breathing heavily. Drayman throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Delluze stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Drayman sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Delluze's defenses. It connects perfectly with Delluze's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

Franklin swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Jesus Huerta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Huerta blocks a jab. Franklin misses with a looping left. Franklin stuffs the takedown attempt from Huerta. Huerta gets slowly back to his feet. Franklin looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Franklin thows a left - swing and a miss! Franklin misses with a hook. Huerta shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Franklin pinned against the cage. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bryson Whitehead! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Colton Tanner! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tanner moves into range and clinches up with Whitehead. Whitehead doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Whitehead has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Tanner uses from the top position. Tanner looking to pass the guard. Whitehead looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Whitehead working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tanner doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tanner manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Whitehead has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tanner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tanner seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Tanner has tapped! This one is allllll over!

Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A looping hook to the body misses from Volkov. Lopez does a little dance to reset his feet. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Lopez! But no joy. Lopez connects with a good right hand that stumbles Volkov. Volkov circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Volkov throws a looping overhand right but Lopez ducks down to avoid it. Volkov with a hook. Volkov ducks under a wild hook from Lopez. Lopez connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Volkov's hands. Lopez throws a nice looking combination but Volkov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Lopez scores with a decent looking hook.

Lopez bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Volkov's head backwards. Lopez lands with a good body shot. Lopez throws a hook to the side of Volkov's head but Volkov sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Lopez lands with a straight right. Volkov didn't see that one coming. Volkov takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Volkov looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Lopez misses the shot to the body.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lopez looks to land a right hand but Volkov moved out of range. Volkov listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Lopez throws a hook to the side of Volkov's head but Volkov sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Lopez checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Volkov just misses with a punch to the body.
Lopez might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Volkov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Volkov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lopez was well out of range. Poor timing from Volkov. Volkov misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lopez.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Volkov might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Volkov drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Volkov is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Volkov has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Lopez connects with the punch. Volkov wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Volkov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. It seemed like Lopez was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Lopez looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Lopez misses with a body shot.

Lopez let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Volkov connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Lopez momentarily.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kotev closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gallegos to the mat! Gallegos manages to get full guard. Kotev controls from within his opponent's guard. Kotev throws a big right hand that misses. Kotev showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Gallegos can't keep his opponent in guard - Kotev advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Kotev has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kotev content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kotev has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Kotev is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Gallegos is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Gallegos flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Kotev anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Gallegos and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Kotev slips an arm under Gallegos chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Kotev has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Kotev is squeezing on Gallegos like an anaconda would it's prey. Gallegos fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ivan Kotev! Ivan Kotev very nearly forgot to thank Bloodbath MMA Clothing amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you. In defeat, Brooks Gallegos stepped up to the mic, saying 'I had COVID'.
