Carrillo's corner calls for a 1-2. Carrillo obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. It looks like Tre Jorgensen has been cut.

Carrillo is aggressively charging in as Jorgensen backs up avoiding any damage. Jorgensen tosses out a jab and Carrillo runs right into it face first! Carrillo is out cold! Jorgensen dropped down on all fours and is barking in Carrillo's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gunterson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Tlaloc counters with a nice double leg into guard. Tlaloc throwing strikes from guard but Gunterson blocks nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Varis misses with a takedown and Braque counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Varis thinking. Braque looks to score with a jab to the body but Varis is just out of range. Varis throws out a counter right but Braque avoids it with no problem. Braque throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Despite the aggression on Varis's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Nice straight punches there by Braque. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Braque. Varis walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Braque checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Varis throws a head kick that misses. It looked like Braque was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Varis. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Varis takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Braque throws a body shot but no joy. A little jabbing left from Varis on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Braque misses with a wild body shot. Varis gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Braque gets a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Varis creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Varis using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Braque has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

He's pushed Carlos's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Bronx misses with a looping right. Bronx is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. A looping hook to the body misses from Bronx. Carlos does a little dance to reset his feet. Carlos decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Bronx controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Bronx has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carlos is working away from the top position though. Bronx is trying to get back to full guard. Bronx is working hard here to advance position.
