Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rony Shields! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ching Chong! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chong misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Shields misses with a double jab
so Chong counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Shields will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Chong wants to control from the top but Shields keeps moving. Chong looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Shields wants to sweep but no luck. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chong trying to control the position from guard on top but Shields is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shields is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Chong is aware though and is defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chong drops back looking for a leg! Shields is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Shields manages to kick Chong off! Chong jumps back into Shields's guard. Chong thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chong controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Chong forces his way into half guard. Shields is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Chong is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Shields defends it well. That's two minutes gone in the round. Shields is staying active underneath Chong, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Shields is looking to escape. Chong is trying to work for a kimura but Shields is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Chong has hold of Shields's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Shields manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Chong is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Shields to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Shields shrugs it off. Shields is looking to improve his position but Chong isn't that keen on the idea. Shields knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chong on the ground. Chong looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Shields wants to hold on but Chong pushes him away. Chong is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Shields is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Shields flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Chong anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Shields and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Chong slips an arm under Shields chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Chong has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Chong is squeezing on Shields like an anaconda would it's prey. Shields fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ching Chong! Ching Chong took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
