Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Trevin Hughes (ranked 2744 p4p, 2743 weight class) and Kameron Yates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Trevin Hughes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kameron Yates! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yates shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Hughes shoots for a double leg takedown but Yates sprawls well. He's pushed Hughes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Yates pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Yates tries to clinch but Hughes moves away and Hughes counters with a series of strikes. Yates will be more careful next time no doubt. Yates throws a head kick that misses. Hughes is looking to counter punch. Yates throws a right and a left that Hughes avoids nicely. Yates doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hughes counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Yates tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Trevin Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kameron Yates. Hughes effectively controlling the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A frustrated look appears on Yates's face as he tries to break the clinch. Yates tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hughes smiles and moves away.

Yates trying to control the position from guard on top but Hughes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hughes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yates is one step ahead there. Hughes keeping moving, preventing Yates from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Hughes working a defensive guard here.
Yates pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hughes is keeping the position for now. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Yates looking to sit in guard and control but Hughes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hughes wants to control from the top but Yates keeps moving. Hughes controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Yates throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hughes sitting in guard, not really doing much. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hughes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Yates keeping moving, preventing Hughes from controlling successfully. Yates looking for a guillotine here but Hughes defends easily.
Yates isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hughes stacks Yates on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hughes!
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Hughes stands up and beckons Yates to his feet. Yates wants to clinch up but Hughes keeps it at a distance. The fight stays on the outside here - Hughes looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hughes gets in close and instigates a clinch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hughes breaks the clinch.
Yates moves in looking to clinch but Hughes pushes him off. Hughes closes the distance and clinches up with Yates, looking for a takedown. Hughes pushes Yates against the cage but Yates circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Trevin Hughes dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Hughes will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Yates stuffs the takedown. Yates explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Hughes throws a head kick but Yates moves out of range.
Hughes closes this distance looking for a takedown but Yates circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trevin Hughes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Yates throws a nice looking combination but Hughes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Hughes is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Yates can do to turn this around? Hughes has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Yates is proving hard to escape from. Hughes trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hughes engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hughes seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Yates for as long as he can get away with.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Yates shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hughes as he jumps to the side. No luck for Yates with that takedown attempt. Hughes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Yates as he avoids it easily. Yates tries to counter with a clinch but Hughes shakes him off and moves away. Hughes could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Hughes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Yates but Yates pushes him off and we're back to square one. No luck for Hughes with that takedown attempt.

Hughes defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Yates. Hughes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hughes wants it to stay on the feet. Yates looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hughes is fending him off so far but Yates persists. Nope, Hughes circles away and we're back to standing. Hughes feinted with a counter takedown. Hughes fails to land the takedown. Yates feints the counter takedown. Yates looks for a takedown but Hughes sprawls well. Yates moves into range and clinches up with Hughes. Hughes is trying to pull guard but Yates turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Yates blocks an elbow strike from Hughes.
Yates tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Hughes avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yates has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hughes avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Hughes goes for a takedown attempt but Yates pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Yates tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Trevin Hughes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Yates stuffs the takedown. Kameron Yates seems to be getting the better of the standup. Hughes displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Yates. Hughes closes the distance and clinches up with Yates, looking for a takedown. Hughes pushes Yates against the cage but Yates circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hughes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Yates shoots in but no luck this time. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Yates swats away the attempt to clinch by Hughes. Yates is looking for the big counter here. Hughes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Kameron Yates will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! Hughes tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Yates manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Yates darts in looking for a takedown but Hughes gets double underhooks and turns Yates into the cage. Yates throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hughes was covering up waiting for the punch and Yates finishes the takedown easily into guard. Hughes looking for a triangle here. Yates is fighting it but it looks tight! Hughes pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Yates is tapping out - this one is all over!
