The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barrett misses with a straight left.
McGintee fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Barrett is out of range.
The fighters circle momentarily. McGintee darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Barrett jabbing away but nothing is landing.
It looked like McGintee was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

and McGintee counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
McGintee displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
It looks like Caden Barrett has been cut.

Barrett uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from McGintee.
McGintee just misses with a punch to the body.
A punch lands to the side of McGintee 's head but he takes it in his stride.
It looks like Cabbage McGintee has been cut.

Barrett feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends McGintee sprawling to the canvas! McGintee rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Barrett finish him?!
McGintee is rocked!
Caden Barrett is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McGintee is aggressively charging in as Barrett backs up avoiding any damage. Barrett tosses out a jab and McGintee runs right into it face first! McGintee is out cold! Barrett dropped down on all fours and is barking in McGintee's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

James displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lopes throws out the jab.

An inside leg kick lands from James.
James ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Lopes swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A combination from James does no damage.
Lopes lands with a cross.

Lopes throws the left hand but James avoids the punch easily.
James plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
James delivers a nice body kick.
Lopes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but James manages to avoid it.
James throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Lopes's head.

and James counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
James buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Lopes throws a big shot that misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from James! But no joy.
Lopes moves out of range of the strikes.
James slips a jab from Lopes.
James counters with a body kick.
James is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lopes is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
James on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
James takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
James lands a nice leg kick that just misses Lopes's sensitive parts.

Lopes chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before James can pounce on him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

James throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Lopes.

James bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
James slips under a jab from Lopes.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Lopes drops his hands momentarily and James takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
James misses with the combination.
Lopes cracks a nice hook into James's ribs.
