Pitstain throws a nice looking combination but Shipley bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kidd fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Waters looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Waters shoots and misses
and Kidd makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Kidd gets caught flat footed, as Waters shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Waters prevents Kidd from getting back to his feet.
Waters trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kidd wants to get back to his feet but Waters is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Kidd is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Waters dives into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kidd pushes Waters away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Waters gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Waters remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
