Undercard bout

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Hammond (ranked 5025 p4p, 4799 weight class) and Marquis Flores (ranked 473 p4p, 462 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Hammond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marquis Flores!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flores throws a hook but Hammond avoids it easily.
Hammond throws a head kick that misses.

Hammond moves into the clinch successfully.
A battle for position here, against the cage.

Flores wants the takedown. Hammond is fighting it off but Flores persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hammond's guard against the cage.

Flores gets to his feet. Hammond looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Flores stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Flores wants it to stay on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Flores throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hammond tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Flores is in Hammond's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Hammond manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hammond seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Hammond has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Flores is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hammond.

Oooooh!!! Hammond has knocked Flores down with a huge combo! Hammond steps away and waves a wobbly Flores back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Hammond changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Flores looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Halameen Tony is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Tony can't hide his disappointment, as Franklin celebrates the victory.
