Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Wesley Hess (ranked 3735 p4p, 3178 weight class) and Kevin Lin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lin has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Wesley Hess!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kevin Lin!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lin blocks a head kick by Hess.

Hess shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hess showed some decent athleticism there.
Hess wants to stand but Lin has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Hess is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hess.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lin is staying active underneath Hess, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lin looking for submissions off his back.
Lin controlling the position for now.

Lin wants to get back to full guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lin taking some punishment here, with Hess in his half guard.
Hess content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Lin tries to get to full guard but Hess has control of the leg.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hess thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lin's head.
Hess seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Hess looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lin is looking for a sweep. Hess is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lin is trying to control but can't.
Lin wants to improve his position but Hess is controlling well.
Lin is refusing to be controlled, as Hess sits in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nice sprawl there from Hess as Lin shoots in.

Hess throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hess is in Lin's guard.

Hess stands up and waves to Lin to follow him.

Hess drives through with a takedown into Lin's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Hess throws a big right hand that misses.
Hess is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Lin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hess defends well.
Hess stopping the sweep attempt from Lin.
Hess controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Hess seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lin for as long as he can get away with.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Lin wants to sweep but no luck.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Wesley Hess dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Lin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hess sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lin somewhat.

Hess darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hess wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lin keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hess pulls his head out easily.
Lin is breathing heavily.

Hess is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Lin tries to improve his position but Hess has taken his back! Hess has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Lin tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Hess pushes Lin away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
