Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dechlan Tomsett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Savion Briggs! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Glass and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Briggs throws a hook but Tomsett avoids it easily. It looked like Tomsett was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Tomsett fails in his attempt to clinch. Briggs appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Tomsett dives in and scores a takedown into Briggs's guard. Tomsett trying to control the position from guard on top but Briggs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tomsett gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Briggs throws an overhand right that lands on Tomsett's shoulder, as Tomsett tries to avoid the shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tomsett cracks Briggs with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Tomsett takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Tomsett shoots for a takedown but Briggs saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Briggs throws a hook to the side of Tomsett's head but Tomsett sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Tomsett tries to move into range but Briggs moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Briggs swings for the body but Tomsett moves out of range.

Briggs throws a shot from downtown. Tomsett moves away and avoids it. Tomsett half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Briggs throws a jab but it's blocked by Tomsett. Savion Briggs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Briggs throws a jab but it's blocked by Tomsett. Briggs ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tomsett moves away. That's going to take a lot out of him. The fighters circling - Briggs throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Briggs takes a swing at Tomsett's ribcage but misses. A punch lands to the side of Tomsett 's head but he takes it in his stride. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Briggs misses with an uppercut. Tomsett saw that one coming. Tomsett is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Briggs throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Briggs throws a lazy right hand but Tomsett sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Briggs feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Tomsetts jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Tomsett tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Briggs paws at him with a jab and circles away. Briggs connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Tomsett tries to clinch but Briggs is having none of it. Briggs connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Briggs leaves Tomsett with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Briggs looks to score with a jab to the body but Tomsett is just out of range. Tomsett keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Briggs. Tomsett walks into a left hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Briggs paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Briggs is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Tomsett throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Briggs tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tomsett is in Briggs's guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Briggs can do anything to dispel that myth. Briggs can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Tomsett controls the pace. Briggs wants to stand but Tomsett is controlling the position. Tomsett seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Tomsett gets to his feet - Briggs follows without any prompting.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tomsett takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Briggs scores with a crisp jab that stopped Tomsett in his tracks. Briggs misses with a wild body shot. Briggs fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tomsett manages to avoid it. Briggs lands a nice shot that snaps Tomsett's head back.
A big left from Briggs misses. Tomsett slips a jab from Briggs. Tomsett bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tomsett creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Briggs sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Briggs gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Tomsett trying to control but he's not successful this time. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Savion Briggs dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Nice sprawl there from Briggs as Tomsett shoots in. Tomsett walks into a straight right hand from Briggs. Tomsett pivots, looking for a leg kick but Briggs is out of range and Tomsett settles back down. A momentary lapse in concentration from Briggs enables Tomsett to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Briggs manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Tomsett trying to control but Briggs is working from the bottom. Briggs is looking to stand back up but Tomsett counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Briggs. Briggs is doing well to control the position and prevent Tomsett from advancing to side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Briggs wants to get back to his feet.
Briggs has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Tomsett slips a nice elbow through Briggs's hands, connecting with Briggs's forehead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tomsett wants to free his trapped foot but Briggs is holding on for dear life with his legs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tomsett sitting and controlling from the half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Tomsett lands a nice short elbow. Tomsett thows a huge punch but Briggs dodges it nicely.
Tomsett looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Briggs with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Tomsett is trying to control. Briggs wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Tomsett is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Briggs! Dechlan Tomsett overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Briggs wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Tomsett wants to finish this one by submission but Briggs is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Tomsett. Tomsett is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Briggs is surviving well by controlling Tomsett's body position as best he can. Tomsett with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Tomsett is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Briggs has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Briggs scores with a punch to the head. Tomsett moves in looking to clinch but Briggs pushes him off. Briggs catches Tomsett with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Tomsett looks for a takedown but Briggs sprawls well. Tomsett shoots in for a takedown but Briggs shows good takedown defense. Dechlan Tomsett is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Tomsett shoots in and drives through. Briggs sprawls well. Briggs jabs Tomsett right on the nose. Tomsett blinks but takes it well. Briggs cracks Tomsett with a good jab. Tomsett throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Briggs's waist but Briggs gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tomsett off to one side. Briggs dips to his left and cracks Tomsett with an uppercut! Tomsett looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Tomsett takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Tomsett on the wrong end of a nice jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Briggs lands with a cross. Nice cross by Briggs. Tomsett shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Briggs pinned against the cage. Briggs gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Briggs stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Briggs wants it to stay on the feet. A jab lands there for Briggs. Tomsett takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Briggs lands with an overhand left. Savion Briggs is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Briggs throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Tomsett stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Tomsett changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Briggs tries to avoid it but Tomsett manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Briggs to the ground. Briggs escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Briggs throws out a counter right but Tomsett avoids it with no problem. Briggs throws out a loose jab but Tomsett uses good head movement to avoid it. Briggs moves into range and connects with a jab. A looping hook to the body misses from Briggs. Tomsett does a little dance to reset his feet. Briggs connects with a jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Tomsett. Tomsett ducks under a wild hook from Briggs. Tomsett appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
