Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cody Beair (ranked 25233 p4p, 3800 weight class) and Rico Delgado (ranked 0 p4p, 298 weight class). Beair comes to the cage accompanied by We Will Rock You. Cody Beair has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cody Beair! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rico Delgado! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Delgado has managed to clinch.
Beair looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Delgado unloads a knee to the mid-section. Delgado is looking for a takedown. Delgado is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Beair is defending well. The referee is keeping an eye on Delgado - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Delgado pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Delgado closes the distance and clinches. Delgado has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Beair uses from the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Delgado is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Beair defends well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Delgado bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Beair's guard. Beair utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Delgado passes into half guard. Delgado content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Delgado is working for a kimura but Beair is defending it quite comfortably.
Delgado passes to side control. Beair trying to remain calm as Delgado controls from the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Delgado tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Delgado has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Delgado is trying to get an arm triangle but Beair is defending well. Delgado just content to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Delgado decides to stand back up. Beair closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Delgado scores with a kick to the body.
Delgado throws a series of strikes that have Beair backpedaling.
Delgado dives in for a single leg takedown but Beair sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Beair seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Cody Beair has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rico Delgado. Beair defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Delgado. Beair is looking to counter the offense by Delgado and move into the clinch. Beair takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Delgado shoots in for a takedown but Beair shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. It looked like Beair was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Delgado gets a clinch.

Delgado decides to pull guard. Delgado pulls Beair in close to his closed guard and prevents Beair from doing any damage or advancing position. Beair tries to stand but Delgado is controlling from the bottom. Beair has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Delgado pulls Beair in close to prevent any damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Rico Delgado dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Delgado throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Delgado shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Beair pinned against the cage. Beair gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Delgado. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beair tries to keep at a distance but Delgado has taken the fight into the clinch. Beair jumps guard but Delgado turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Delgado is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Beair can't fight it off and eventually Delgado manages to take the fight to the floor. Beair looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Delgado controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Delgado is continuing to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Delgado postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Delgado is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Delgado trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Delgado gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Beair counters with a nice double leg into guard. Delgado is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Beair presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Cody Beair has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rico Delgado. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Delgado breaks from the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Delgado closes the distance and clinches up with Beair, looking for a takedown. Delgado pushes Beair against the cage but Beair circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. An attempted straight right counter from Beair misses the target. Delgado forces Beair back against the cage and clinches. Delgado has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Delgado with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Delgado lands an elbow that stopped Beair in his tracks for a moment. Delgado manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Beair wants to control from the top but Delgado keeps moving. Beair is fighting to break Delgado's control of his arms but Delgado is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Delgado keeping moving, preventing Beair from controlling successfully. Delgado manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Beair manages to get himself to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Delgado is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Beair working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Delgado. Delgado stands up and waves to Beair to follow him. Delgado moves into the clinch. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Rico Delgado showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Delgado is defended easily by Beair. Delgado has a takedown stuffed. Delgado shoots in but no luck this time. Cody Beair has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rico Delgado. Delgado dives in for a single leg takedown but Beair sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Delgado delivers a nice body kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beair doesn't succeed with the takedown and Delgado counters with a one-two to the body. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Delgado moves into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Delgado decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Delgado shoots for a double leg takedown but Beair sprawls well. He's pushed Delgado's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Beair swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Delgado moves into the clinch. Beair tries to land a knee to the head but Delgado blocks with his arms.
Delgado pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Delgado is defended easily by Beair.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beair tries to clinch but Delgado is having none of it. Delgado throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Beair was covering up waiting for the punch and Delgado finishes the takedown easily into guard. Beair wriggles free and stands up. Delgado gets a double leg takedown into Beair's guard. Delgado stands up and waves to Beair to follow him. Delgado misses with a takedown attempt - Beair sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Delgado throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Beair's waist but Beair gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Delgado off to one side. Beair seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Delgado darts in and clinches Beair up against the cage. Delgado lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Beair or not. Delgado pulls guard. Beair wants to control from the top but Delgado keeps moving. Delgado will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Delgado has control of Beair's left arm, preventing Beair from doing any damage. Cody Beair has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rico Delgado is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
And that's the end of the fight! Rico Delgado comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Delgado has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
