Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tripp Melendez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinra Yamanaka! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksandr Martynov.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Melendez throws a right and a left that both miss. Yamanaka darts in trying to clinch and Melendez counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Yamanaka shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Melendez defends it nicely. Melendez was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Melendez seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Yamanaka throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Melendez. Melendez appears to be looking for a big counter. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Melendez blocks a head kick by Yamanaka.
Yamanaka keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Yamanaka avoids the head kick by Melendez.
Yamanaka shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Melendez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Yamanaka tries to clinch and Melendez counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Yamanaka thinking. Melendez keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Yamanaka throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Melendez counters with a crisp one two that drops Yamanaka! Melendez thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Yamanaka to his feet! Yamanaka is in big trouble!
Yamanaka is rocked! Shinra Yamanaka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Melendez drops Yamanaka with a straight right hand, right on the button! Melendez follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tripp Melendez!
