The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mike tries to close the distance and clinch but Carey swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Carey will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Mike unleashes a big counter combination but Carey bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Carey shoots for a takedown but Mike saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mike throws a head kick that Carey semi-blocks.
Mike dives in for a single leg takedown but Carey sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Swirly feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Cyr sprawling to the canvas! Cyr rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Swirly finish him?!
It looks like Sebastian Cyr has been cut.
No joy there for Cyr, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cyr moves out of range of the strikes.
Swirly cracks Cyr with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Cyr tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Swirly pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Cyr is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
