Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Markus Varland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Valen Kael!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Valeri Chadov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kael moves into range and clinches up with Varland.
Varland taking a breather.
Kael manages to break the clinch.
Varland lands with a cross.
Varland just misses with a punch to the body.
Varland paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Varland misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kael.
Kael wants to clinch.
Kael closes this distance looking for a takedown but Varland circles away.
Kael manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Varland on his heels. He'll look to pass Varland's guard now, I'm sure.
Kael trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kael throwing strikes from guard but Varland blocks nicely.
Kael postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Varland knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kael on the ground.
Kael working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Varland's head.
Kael stands and steps away. Varland gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Varland bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kael's head backwards.
Kael takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Kael throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Varland.
Varland swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kael changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Kael closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Varland quickly recovers to half guard.
Kael has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kael is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Varland defends it well.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kael lands a nice short elbow.

Kael is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Let's hope that Kael has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Kael has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Varland is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Kael cracks Varland with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Varland takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kael moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Varland has worked his arm free - good work by Varland!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Valen Kael dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Kael clinches up with Varland and pushes him back against the cage.
Kael is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Varland to keep the fight standing.
Nice body punch from Kael - that landed with a thud.

Kael is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Varland pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Kael is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Varland tries to break the clinch but Kael is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Varland tries a body shot but Kael blocks it.
Kael pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
A nice left hand lands by Varland.
Kael drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Varland gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Markus Varland has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Valen Kael.
Varland is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Varland lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kael backwards.

Varland pushes Kael back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Kael prevents Varland from breaking the clinch.
Varland scores with a shoulder strike.
Kael is trying to pull guard but Varland turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Kael goes for a takedown in the clinch but Varland prevents it.
The referee is keeping an eye on Kael - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Kael's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Valen Kael is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kael is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kael shoots in and drives through. Varland sprawls well.
Varland sends Kael crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Varland is motioning to the referee to let Kael up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
 Kael is rocked!
Varland digs a good hook to Kael's body.
Kael is still on wobbly legs! Can Varland finish him?
Varland steps in with a hook that catches Kael right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Varland follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Kael looks absolutely devastated.
