A looping hook to the body misses from Vailima. Branch does a little dance to reset his feet.

Vailima circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Branch to the canvas! Branch doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Vailima keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Hagmedov feints and as Nelson raises his hands in defense, Hagmedov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Nelson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hagmedov's guard.

Nelson trying to control the position from guard on top but Hagmedov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Nelson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nelson wants to control from the top but Hagmedov keeps moving.
Nelson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Li dives in for a single leg takedown but Malxoey sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Li is trying hard to land a takedown here. Malxoey sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A little jabbing left from Malxoey on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Malxoey uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Li has time to react.

No luck for Li with that takedown attempt.
Li shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Malxoey pinned against the cage. Malxoey gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Li doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Malxoey counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Li thinking.
Li displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Malxoey throws out the jab.

Malxoey might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Malxoey can do anything to dispel that myth.

Li has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Li uses his free foot to push down on Malxoey's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Malxoey.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
