Alvarez comes into the arena with Lose Yourself blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charles Alvarez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Draymond Green! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Joseph Jones and Eddie Farnsworth.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Green throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alvarez's waist but Alvarez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Green off to one side. Alvarez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Alvarez throws a right and a left that both miss.
Alvarez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. A left hand lands to the body for Alvarez.
Alvarez is pushing Green up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Green changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Alvarez fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Green rushes Alvarez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Alvarez definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alvarez digs a right hand into Green's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Green's gas tank.
Alvarez is trying to trip Green. He has hold of a leg but Green is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Alvarez persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Alvarez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Alvarez looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Green wants to stand and escape but Alvarez is having none of it.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Alvarez scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Green's coach down at Gumburcules Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Green's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Green goes for a double leg but Alvarez avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Alvarez continues to drive forward. Charles Alvarez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Draymond Green. Green takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Alvarez connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. A nice combination there by Alvarez.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice straight punches there by Alvarez. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Alvarez. Green takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Green tries to sprawl but Alvarez drives through with a takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alvarez postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Green to stand up. Green throws a head kick but Alvarez moves out of range.
Alvarez fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Green sprawls well initially but Alvarez persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Alvarez tries to pass to full mount but Green defends it. Alvarez sitting and controlling from the half guard. Green has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Alvarez is working away from the top position though. Alvarez is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Alvarez controlling the pace. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Good exchange - Alvarez coming out on top. Alvarez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Green. Green checks the leg kick nicely there.
Green unleashes a big counter combination but Alvarez bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Green connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Alvarez's hands.

Still in half guard, Alvarez seems content to control. Charles Alvarez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
 The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Alvarez works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alvarez is stalling in the full guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Alvarez won't allow Green to get back to his feet. Alvarez looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Green is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Alvarez is controlling him. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Green is trying to keep Alvarez in close.

Alvarez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Green can do to turn this around? Green changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alvarez tries to avoid it but Green manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alvarez to the ground. Alvarez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Green takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Green will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Alvarez lands a nice shot to the body.

Green wants to stand and escape but Alvarez is having none of it. Alvarez showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Green looking to control.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Alvarez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Draymond Green has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Green wants to sweep but no luck.

With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Shamus McSorley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Geghan! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Dean Styles and Steve Montenegro.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McSorley misses with a right hand and Geghan counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Geghan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McSorley manages to avoid it. McSorley stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Geghan has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. McSorley misses with a hook. Geghan ducked under it nicely. McSorley on the wrong end of a nice jab. McSorley drops his hands momentarily and Geghan takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. McSorley tests Geghan's chin there with a solid looking shot. Geghan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent McSorley stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. McSorley misses the jab. It seemed like Geghan was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Geghan lands with an uppercut that bounces McSorley off the cage and back into range. This has been an exciting period of action! Geghan's corner calls for a 1-2. Geghan obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. McSorley swings away with a body shot that misses
and Geghan counters with a right hand to the body. McSorley gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. A looping hook to the body misses from Geghan. McSorley does a little dance to reset his feet.

It looks like John Geghan has been cut. McSorley swings and misses with a shot to the body and Geghan counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Geghan gets a double leg takedown into McSorley's guard. Geghan trying to control but McSorley is working from the bottom. McSorley on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McSorley tries to get out of the position. Geghan passes into half guard. McSorley avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Geghan. Geghan throwing shots but McSorley is blocking nicely. McSorley looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. McSorley is in trouble now - Geghan has advanced to mount!

With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Nurlan Karim! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Russell Pearce and Bruno Lombardi.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wheeler stuns Karim with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Wheeler listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Wheeler looks to score with a jab to the body but Karim is just out of range. Karim replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Wheeler blocks it well. Karim throws a body kick that misses. Wheeler takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
It looks like Rylan Wheeler has been cut. Rylan Wheeler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wheeler throws a combination that misses and Karim counters with a stiff right hand. Wheeler throws a series of punches but Karim avoids them all with ease. Karim throws out a counter right but Wheeler avoids it with no problem. Karim tries a head kick but it misses.

and Karim counters with a nice body kick.

Wheeler feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Karims jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Karim connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Wheeler throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Karim! But no joy. Wheeler throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A head kick misses from Wheeler. and Karim makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Wheeler doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Wheeler misses with a hook. Karim keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Karim counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Karim moves away from the strike by Wheeler. Karim lands a leg kick that knocks Wheeler off balance momentarily. Wheeler throws a jab when Karim was well out of range.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Karim scores with a push kick. Wheeler is breathing heavily. A telegraphed right hand from Wheeler misses the target. Wheeler throws a lazy uppercut
and Karim counters with a stiff right hand. Karim misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wheeler looks to land a combination but Karim avoids it well. Karim is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Wheeler throws a sloppy head kick and Karim counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Wheeler misses with an uppercut
and Karim counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. A good leg kick by Karim. Wheeler tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Wheeler throws a hook but Karim avoids it easily. A jab from Wheeler does it's job there.
Karim lands a big head kick that sends Wheeler tumbling to the mat! Karim takes a step backwards and waves Wheeler back to his feet - he wants the finish!
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Wheeler throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Karim sees it coming and avoids it easily. Wheeler throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Wheeler moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromKarim. Karim slips a straight right by Wheeler. Wheeler moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromKarim. Karim is looking to land body kicks. An attempted straight right counter from Wheeler misses the target. Wheeler lands a lovely overhand right. Nice body kick there by Karim. Karim is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Wheeler throws a right hand that Karim ducks under and follows up with a left that Karim also avoids with ease. Wheeler throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Karim counters with a lovely straight right hand! The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Karim walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Wheeler drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Karim swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Wheeler's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some bone on bone action there as Blackwater checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Blackwater goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Hillburn throws a counter combo. Hillburn moves out of range of the strikes. Blackwater throws a jab but it's blocked by Hillburn. Hillburn doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Blackwater throws a body kick that misses. A little jabbing left from Hillburn on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. A slow jab from Blackwater misses its intended target. Hillburn lands a nice shot to the body.
Hillburn lands with a shot to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hillburn punishes Blackwater's body with a nice straight punch. Hillburn throws the left hand but Blackwater avoids the punch easily. Blackwater went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. A lazy body kick from Blackwater and Hillburn counters with a lovely straight right hand!

The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Hillburn changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Blackwater works Hillburn's body with a nice hook. Blackwater thuds a left hand into Hillburn's body. Hillburn shoots in and drives through. Blackwater sprawls well. Blackwater tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Hillburn throws a big counter head kick but Blackwater avoids it with no problem. Blackwater sizes up Hillburn with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Hillburn has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Blackwater looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Lorenz Blackwater seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hillburn had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Blackwater defends it easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hillburn can't keep his opponent in guard - Blackwater advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Blackwater working the head and body with strikes. Hillburn is not content to let Blackwater control the position. Hillburn is trying to get back to full guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Blackwater is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Hillburn wants to get back to full guard. Blackwater not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Blackwater scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Blackwater has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Blackwater is landing with some decent strikes but Hillburn is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Hillburn working to try and regain half guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Blackwater with a couple of short strikes. Hillburn is wriggling around trying to escape.
Blackwater has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hillburn keeps trying to improve his position. A nice elbow there by Blackwater.
Blackwater is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hillburn to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hillburn shrugs it off. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hillburn has left one of his arms exposed and Blackwater doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Hillburn screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
