Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ikapoti Puapua (ranked 2817 p4p, 3871 weight class) and Shinobu Ota (ranked 0 p4p, 235 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Ikapoti Puapua! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinobu Ota! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Topper Green and Francis DeMontford.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ota scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Ota wants to control but Puapua is keeping him busy. Puapua can't do much from the bottom here. Ota lands a nice forearm strike. Puapua avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Ota. Puapua on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Ota tries to score with some ground and pound. Puapua controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ota scoring with punches from side control.
Puapua is rocked! Ota sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Puapua is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Ota wants to control but Puapua is keeping him busy.
 That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ota lands some shots froms side control. Ota is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Puapua's shoulder. That is not cool. Ota postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Ota wants to control but Puapua is keeping him busy. Ota taking a breather here.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Ota tries to score with some ground and pound. Puapua controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Ota is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Puapua knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Ota is looking to take a break and control but Puapua is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ota looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee asks Ota politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Ota prefers to stall for the moment though. Puapua is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Puapua wants to control but Ota is keeping busy.

 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Ota throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Puapua was covering up waiting for the punch and Ota finishes the takedown easily into guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Ota trying to control but Puapua is working from the bottom. Ota controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Ota wants to control from the top but Puapua keeps moving. Ota sitting in guard here, content to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Puapua holds on and takes a little breather. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Shinobu Ota dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Puapua tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Ikapoti Puapua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ota shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ota was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Ota in side control lands a decent elbow. Puapua defending against the ground and pound. Ota creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Ota looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Puapua is avoiding damage well.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Puapua is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ota's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Ota misses with a head shot. Puapua uses the momentum to regain guard. Ota trying to control the position from guard on top but Puapua is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ota postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Ota wants to pass the guard but Puapua is keeping the position. Ota trying to control but Puapua is working from the bottom.
Ota drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Puapua manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ota has Puapua in his guard.
 We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ota can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ota scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Puapua tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Ikapoti Puapua is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ota gets a double leg takedown into Puapua's guard. Ota tries to free his leg and advance position but Puapua is retaining full guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Ota makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Ota in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Ota wants to control from the top but Puapua keeps moving. Ota trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ota throwing strikes from guard but Puapua blocks nicely. Ota pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Puapua is keeping the position for now. Puapua could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Puapua keeping moving, preventing Ota from controlling successfully. Ota must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Puapua can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ota controls the pace. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Ota throws a strike but Puapua rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Puapua is fighting to break Ota's control of his arms but Ota is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Ota is continuing to stall. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Puapua preventing the sweep. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Shinobu Ota showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Puapua tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ota manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ota drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Ota tries to free his leg and advance position but Puapua is retaining full guard. Ota trying to control but Puapua is working from the bottom. Ota throws an elbow that misses. Puapua uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ota's guard. Nice move by Puapua!
Ota is looking to sweep but instead, Puapua has passed into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ota is controlling Puapua's position as best he can from this difficult position. Ota tries to get to full guard but Puapua has control of the leg.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Ota tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Puapua has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Ota is trying to reverse the position but instead Puapua has taken his back - oops! You can see the frustration on Ota's face� He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Ota rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Puapua content to control rather than advance. Ota strikes from the bottom but Puapua passes into mount!
Shinobu Ota has got the better of the ground game so far. Ota is wriggling around trying to escape.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Ota wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Ota has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Ota just trying to survive but Puapua is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Puapua trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Ota doesn't escape. Puapua controlling well, preventing Ota from escaping the position.
Ota is trying to stand back up. Ota is trying to break free.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Puapua is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Ota is really stuck here.
Ota is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ota is trying to break free.
Ikapoti Puapua has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ota is still trying to improve position.
And that's the end of the fight! Ikapoti Puapua showed his dominance in that final round. Well Ota has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Shinobu Ota! A less than humble Shinobu Ota misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
