Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Ikapoti Puapua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinobu Ota!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Topper Green and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ota tries to score with some ground and pound. Puapua controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Ota is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Puapua knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Ota is looking to take a break and control but Puapua is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Puapua holds on and takes a little breather.

Ota drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Puapua manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ota has Puapua in his guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ota can do anything to dispel that myth.

Ota throws a strike but Puapua rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Puapua is fighting to break Ota's control of his arms but Ota is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Well Ota has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Shinobu Ota misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
