Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hector Souza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ari Norris! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Mauricio Rocha.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Norris shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Souza but Souza pushes him off and we're back to square one. Norris uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Souza. Norris lands a nice leg kick that just misses Souza's sensitive parts.
Norris gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Norris escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Souza gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Souza's corner is telling him to maintain position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Souza wants to get up but he can't break Norris's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Souza trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Norris working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Souza has passed into half guard!
 That's one minute gone in the round. Souza wants to get back to his feet.
Well, if Souza is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.
Souza lands strikes from half guard. Souza passes to side control. Souza taking a breather here. Souza could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Souza has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Souza decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Norris gets caught flat footed, as Souza shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Norris looks winded! Souza seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Souza would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Souza slips nicely into half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Souza lands a nice short elbow. Souza wants to stand up but Norris manages to regain full guard. Souza is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Souza stands and throws Norris's legs to the side, diving into side control. Norris is trying to escape the position but Souza is controlling the position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Souza tries to stand but Norris is controlling his head. Souza slows the pace down.
Souza has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Souza throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Souza has Norris up against the cage in a clinch.
Norris is trying to break the clinch but Souza is controlling him. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Souza has hold of one of Norris's legs. Norris is fighting the takedown attempt but Souza gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Souza thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Souza slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Hector Souza dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Souza looks to score with a jab to the body but Norris is just out of range.

Souza is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Norris to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Norris shrugs it off. Souza is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Norris can do to turn this around? Norris is breathing heavily. Norris taking shots to the head. Souza lands a big shot there that rocks Norris but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Souza looking to control and managing it successfully. Norris throws a strike from the bottom but Souza uses the opportunity to take his back.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Can Norris hold on?! Souza is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Norris looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Souza just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Souza.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Souza seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Norris for as long as he can get away with.

Kern with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Kern wants to control but Diaz is keeping him busy. Kern slips a nice elbow through Diaz's hands, connecting with Diaz's forehead. Kern is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Kern trying to control the action but Diaz is working from the bottom.
 The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Kern seems to be working for a kimura but Diaz defends the submission attempt.

 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Diaz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kern counters with a nice double leg into side control. Diaz won't be happy with that. Diaz is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kern is controlling him well.

Diaz gets back to half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kern is nestled in close to Diaz, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Diaz taking some punishment here, with Kern in his half guard. And that is the end of the round. Jake Kern has got the better of the ground game so far. Kern is pulling down on Diaz's head. It's preventing any offense from Diaz, at least for the moment. Diaz slips nicely into half guard. Diaz is keen to just control but Kern is a slippery customer. Diaz prevents Kern from improving his position. Diaz is stalling here. Kern is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Diaz seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kern has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Kern working away.

Jake Kern showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

And that's the end of the fight! Jake Kern comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Kern has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Griff shoots in looking for a takedown but Clarke manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Griff's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Kellen Clarke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Exquisite Griff. Both fighters circling a little - Clarke finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Griff shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Clarke as he avoids it easily. Griff is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Clarke presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Clarke tries to pull guard but Griff won't allow it.

Clarke has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Griff is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Clarke tries for a takedown but Griff manages to get underhooks.

Griff gets control of Clarke's arms and successfully pulls guard. Griff will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Griff is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Clarke trying to control but Griff is working from the bottom.

Griff has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Clarke can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Clarke trying to control but Griff is working from the bottom. Griff lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Clarke is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Clarke is looking to stand up but Griff isn't so interested in that idea. Clarke might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Griff tries to free his leg and advance position but Clarke is retaining full guard. Griff passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Griff thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Clarke is trying to buck Griff off.

Leznir ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Pear lands a nice leg kick that just misses Leznir's sensitive parts. Pear jabbing away but nothing is landing. A solid leg kick lands there for Pear.
Pear throws a right hand that Leznir ducks under and follows up with a left that Leznir also avoids with ease. Pear on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Both guys are working to get underhooks. A short right hand to the side of the head by Pear. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Leznir has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Pear regains guard immediately. Leznir scoring with punches to the head and body. Leznir loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Pear is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Leznir throws a big elbow that misses.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Leznir working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Leznir is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Leznir works over Pear with some ground and pound from guard. Leznir trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Leznir with a nice head shot there. Leznir passes Pear's left leg - he's now in half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Leznir lands a nice short elbow.
That has opened up Saint Pear's cut even more. Leznir throwing shots but Pear is blocking nicely. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Leznir connects with a nice short shot to Pear's temple.
The cut above Saint Pear's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Leznir slips a nice elbow through Pear's hands, connecting with Pear's forehead.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Leznir controlling the pace. Pear tries to roll over but Leznir keeps him under control. Pear blocking the ground and pound attempt from Leznir. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Leznir throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Leznir drops an elbow to the side of Pear's head. Pear trying to control but Leznir postures up.
Leznir missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Leznir seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Saint Pear's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Saint Pear's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
