Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Kern! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hector Souza! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Seu Braga.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza drives through with a takedown into guard. Kern trying to control the position here. Souza postures up.
Kern is looking to sweep but instead, Souza has passed into half guard.
Kern wants to get back to his feet. Kern trying to control from the bottom.
Kern is concentrating on defense, preventing Souza from advancing position. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Souza has eaten all the pies! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kern has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Souza is working away from the top position though. Souza stalling.
 That's one minute gone in the round. It looks like Souza might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Souza thows a huge punch but Kern dodges it nicely.
Souza lands strikes from half guard. Kern is trying to stand back up but Souza is controlling him
Well, if Souza is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.
Souza wants to pass to mount but Kern is defending the position. Kern tries to get to full guard but Souza has control of the leg. Souza passes to side control.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Kern wants to get back to his feet but Souza drags him back down. Kern is holding Souza down, trying to stall. Kern tries to buck Souza off but Souza is having none of it. Souza wants to stand but Kern is controlling his arm. Kern prevents Souza from moving into mount.
Souza is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kern is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Souza is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kern has escaped the position, nice work there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kern is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Souza trying to control the pace. Kern has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Souza is working away from the top position though. Souza not landing any meaningful shots this time. Kern is trying to stand back up but Souza is controlling him
Souza lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Souza with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kern is trying to get back to full guard. Kern wants to control but Souza is keeping busy.
Kern wants to sweep but Souza has passed to side control! Kern can't do much from the bottom here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kern parries the strikes from Souza easily there. Souza is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kern to escape.
The referee asks Souza politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Souza prefers to stall for the moment though. Kern struggling a bit here. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Hector Souza dominated that round. That's time! Kern's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Kern defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Souza.
Souza moves into the clinch. Kern can't break the clinch.
Kern is trying to break the clinch but Souza has him pressed against the cage.
Souza pulls guard successfully.
Kern won't allow Souza to sweep him here. Kern wants to control from the top but Souza keeps moving.
Souza has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Kern doesn't defend quickly enough and Souza has managed to lock this one up! Can Kern escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Souza on a fantastic submission victory.

Getaldic clinches up with Griff and pushes him back against the cage.
Griff is fighting off a takedown attempt but Getaldic is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Griff to the mat. Griff regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Getaldic wants to pass the guard but Griff is keeping the position. Getaldic pushes down on Griff's leg and manages to get into half guard. Griff is trying to stand up here but Getaldic is controlling him well. Griff wants to control but Getaldic is keeping busy.
Getaldic seems to be working for a kimura but Griff defends the submission attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Getaldic looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Griff taking some punishment here, with Getaldic in his half guard. Still in half guard, Getaldic seems content to control. Getaldic is looking to stall here but Griff recovers full guard. Getaldic is in close to Griff's body, working some short punches and elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Getaldic sitting in guard, not really doing much. It looks like Getaldic might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Let's hope that Getaldic has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Griff looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Getaldic puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Getaldic is thwarting Griff's attempts to control the position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Getaldic connects with a nice short shot to Griff's temple.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Getaldic wants to free his trapped foot but Griff is holding on for dear life with his legs. Griff wants to get back to his feet. Getaldic controlling the action here. Getaldic works his way into side control.
Getaldic is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Griff has escaped the position, nice work there. Getaldic working the ground and pound. Getaldic scores with a couple of short elbows.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Griff gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Getaldic has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Getaldic cracks Griff with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
It looks like Exquisite Griff has been cut. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Getaldic controlling from mount. Griff takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Getaldic's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Zaladin and Melnis goes tumbling to the canvas! Zaladin follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.

It looks like Ogle Melnis has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Zaladin seems to be working for a kimura but Melnis defends the submission attempt. Oh Melnis is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Zaladin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Melnis defends it well. Zaladin moves into full mount! Melnis won't be happy about that! Melnis seems to have got his legs back now.
Zaladin throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Melnis has his hands clasped together but Zaladin breaks the hold and Melnis is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Zaladin!
