The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kidd enables FZ to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kidd manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
FZ controls from within his opponent's guard.

Kidd is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
FZ stays in close to Kidd's body and controls the position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. FZ connects with a nice short shot to Kidd's temple.

FZ perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
It looks like FZ might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
FZ working over Kidd with some ground and pound. Kidd looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

George FZ dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Kidd has FZ up against the cage in a clinch.

FZ manages to escape and get back to his feet!

FZ shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kidd napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kidd is trying to escape the position but FZ is controlling the position.

Kidd is letting FZ control him for a moment.
FZ's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

FZ is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kidd knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

FZ is staying tight to Kidd's torso, preventing him from escaping.

FZ thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kidd tries to buck FZ off but FZ is having none of it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
FZ is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Kidd will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Let's hope that FZ has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

George FZ has got the better of the ground game so far.

George FZ showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

FZ takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kidd wants to control but FZ is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Oh Kidd is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

FZ has hold of Kidd's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Kidd seems comfortable defending it but FZ has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Kidd is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Kidd is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but FZ couldn't care less - he's delighted!
