The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duarte throws a right and a left that Viera avoids nicely.
Duarte throws a left and a right that both miss
and Viera counters with a low kick, right behind Duarte 's knee.
Duarte throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Viera closes the distance and clinches.
Viera has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Duarte after a bit of a struggle.
Viera manages to pull guard.
Viera definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Duarte must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Viera is trying to keep Duarte in close.
Duarte got a little sloppy there for a moment and Viera has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Duarte has managed to get both his arms back between Viera's legs - danger averted.
Duarte really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Viera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Viera has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Duarte doesn't defend quickly enough and Viera has managed to lock this one up! Can Duarte escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Viera on a fantastic submission victory.
