Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 20 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, George Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Angelo Canzanilla! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Josh West.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into Canzanilla's guard. Smith pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Canzanilla is keeping the position for now. Canzanilla wants to sweep here but Smith controlling him for the moment. Smith wants to control from the top but Canzanilla keeps moving. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Canzanilla can do anything to dispel that myth. Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Canzanilla is retaining full guard. Canzanilla bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Smith's guard.
Canzanilla throws a big right hand that misses. Canzanilla's corner is telling him to maintain position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Smith is on top in guard.

Smith thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith wants to pass the guard but Canzanilla is keeping the position.
