The bell rings for round one and we are underway! AKA ProActive defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Penn. AKA ProActive takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Penn jabbing away but nothing is landing. AKA ProActive with a lazy takedown attempt and Penn counters with a shoot takedown. AKA ProActive fights it but they end up in guard. AKA ProActive is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Penn is controlling him. AKA ProActive keeping moving, preventing Penn from controlling successfully. Penn throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. AKA ProActive utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. AKA ProActive is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Penn is aware though and is defending well. Penn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. AKA ProActive is keeping the position for now. Penn wants to control from the top but AKA ProActive keeps moving. Penn postures up.

AKA ProActive is working to avoid the ground and pound but Penn connects with a decent elbow. Penn misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Penn wants to control for a moment but AKA ProActive uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. AKA ProActive is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Penn's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Penn's back!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Penn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Penn swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. AKA ProActive is in the full mount, landing strikes. Penn is looking to get to half guard. Penn takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. AKA ProActive fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Penn looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by AKA ProActive! Submission of the night perhaps?

Nelson waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Styles. Styles connects with a right hand. Nelson shakes it off. Styles throws a nice looking combination but Nelson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. No luck for Nelson with that takedown attempt. Styles fails to land with a series of punches.
The crowd cheers as Styles lands an impressive looking overhand right. Nelson doesn't seem phased though. Nelson lands with a good body shot. Styles lands a nice shot that snaps Nelson's head back.
Nelson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Nelson gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Styles.
That's one minute gone in the round. A slow jab from Styles misses its intended target. Styles throws a big shot that misses. Nelson slips a jab and a cross from Styles.

It looks like Jason Styles has been cut. Styles connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Styles lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nelson circles away quickly and effectively. Nelson drives through and clinches with Styles against the cage.

Nelson is trying to drag Styles to the mat but Styles just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Nelson looks for a takedown but Styles sprawls well. Styles lands a really nice looking cross but Nelson seems unphased.

Nelson is rocked! Styles is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Styles cracks Nelson with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Nelson falls to his knees and Styles doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
