The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Genovese blocks a leg kick. Onizuka dives in and grabs Genovese's left leg, looking for a takedown. Genovese pushes down on Onizuka's head and hops out. Genovese loads up on a big right hand but Onizuka slips the punch. Onizuka scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Genovese is doing well to control the position and prevent Onizuka from advancing to side control. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Genovese makes his way to full guard. Genovese scores with a one two! Onizuka had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Onizuka shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Genovese as he jumps to the side. Onizuka on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Onizuka will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Genovese lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Onizuka walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Genovese moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Genovese lands a nice shot that snaps Onizuka's head back.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Genovese takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Genovese swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Genovese is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Onizuka swings for the body but Genovese moves out of range.

Genovese has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. He's got his arms around Donavan's waist but Donavan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Christopher off to one side. Christopher closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Christopher is working Donavan over with some ground and pound from side control. Donavan is not content to let Christopher control the position. Donavan takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Christopher taking a breather here. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Llewtras with a poor takedown and Collins counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Collins is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Llewtras is just riding it out for now. Collins eventually gives up the hold. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Collins frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Llewtras is working to get back to half guard.
Llewtras manages to regain half guard. Good work. Llewtras won't allow Collins to pass to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Collins takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Collins is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Well, if Collins is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Llewtras rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Collins moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Collins pushes Llewtras up against the cage in a clinch. Llewtras wants to get back to striking at distance but Collins won't allow it.
Collins comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Collins breaks from the clinch.
Collins tries to bum rush Llewtras with a series of wild strikes but Llewtras uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Collins has Llewtras up against the cage in a clinch.

Cal Collins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Llewtras. Collins will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Llewtras up against the cage. Collins has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Llewtras regains guard immediately.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Collinsis looking to pass into half guard but Llewtras pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Llewtras is in guard. Llewtras loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Collins can't keep his opponent in guard - Llewtras advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Collins is not content to let Llewtras control the position. Collins trying to hold on to Llewtras's head to control him but Llewtras postures up.
Llewtras thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Collins's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Collins regains full guard. Nicely done. Collins wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Collins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Llewtras wants to stand but Collins has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Llewtras scores with a decent looking elbow strike. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Huge connects with a good right hand that stumbles Franklin. Franklin circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Huge throws a shot from downtown. Franklin moves away and avoids it. Franklin tries to clinch up. Franklin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Huge pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Franklin back to the cage. Huge follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Huge displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Franklin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Huge scores with a jab to the body. Franklin wants to clinch. Huge's jab looks to have found its range, popping Franklin under the eye. Franklin tries to clinch there but Huge circles away.
Huge is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Franklin had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Huge tries a low kick but Franklin avoids it. Nice jab there from Huge. Horrible takedown by Franklin or perhaps it was just good defense by Huge which made him look bad. Franklin doesn't manage to clinch there - Huge circles away.

Huge sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Huge throws a leg kick and Franklin counters by moving into the clinch. Huge tries to break free but Franklin pushes him back against the cage. Franklin breaks from the clinch.
Franklin has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Franklin there as he acknowledges the shot. Huge lands a nice shot that snaps Franklin's head back.

and Fist cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fist lunges at Bartos with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Bartos's hand. Bartos on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Bartos checks a leg kick. Karl Bartos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bartos moves forwards but Fist connects with a nice, crisp jab. Bartos takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Fist throws a low kick, looking for Bartos's leg but Bartos calmly moves out of range. Bartos ducks right into an uppercut from Fist. Fist takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Kyle Fist seems to be getting the better of the standup. Fist measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Bartos! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
