Hey bro! Thanks for the question. First off I wouldn't say an Americana is a harder submission than a Kimura at all, they are very simelar, the only difference is the position of the opponents arm when its applied. I will usually reward the more unique and complicated submissions such as triangles and kneebars, but I see an Americana and a Kimura as equally impressive submissions, if anything you need more strength to secure a kimura once you apply the position around the opponents wrist because its much easier for an opponent to defend the shoulder lock when his arm is by his side than it is above his head. What I also factor in is the opponents BJJ rating, I feel Pop Tarts submitting a BJJ purple belt with 10 fights is more impressive than Hightower submitting a less experienced BJJ blue belt, and also the fight rating, which was higher for the Tarts vs Turbitt fight than Hightower vs Wallace. I always try to be impartial and fair with the of the night awards, and in this case I actually gave the Submission of the Night award to Pop Tarts who isn't one of mine instead of my own fighter Hightower! Thanks for the question, hope I cleared it up OK!

i want to know how hightower didn't get sub of the night when he hit the sub faster and hit a much harder sub to hit on someone doesn't make sense to me? an answer would be appreciated or explanation on the dynamics of choosing who gets sub of the night.
