Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Hradek (ranked 2472 p4p, 244 weight class) and Fedor Petrov (ranked 2022 p4p, 212 weight class). Petrov has chosen They want too see me fall as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Fedor Petrov was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jan Hradek! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Petrov! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Petrov. Those never looked like landing. Petrov fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Petrov swings widly with a right hand
and Hradek counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Petrov is lucky that one didn't land flush. Petrov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Petrov lands with an overhand left. Petrov loads up on a big right hand but Hradek slips the punch. Hradek shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Petrov pinned against the cage. Petrov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Petrov throws a body punch but Hradek moves out of range. Petrov misses with a jab, cross combination.

That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick misses from Hradek. Petrov throws out a counter right but Hradek avoids it with no problem. Petrov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hradek was well out of range. Poor timing from Petrov. Hradek looks for a takedown but Petrov sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jan Hradek. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hradek tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Petrov swivels and escapes. Petrov fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hradek looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Petrov throws a body shot but no joy. Fedor Petrov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Petrov scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Petrov has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far. Hradek ducks under a wild hook from Petrov. Hradek looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. Petrov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hradek manages to avoid it. Petrov throws a right hand that Hradek ducks under and follows up with a left that Hradek also avoids with ease. Hradek could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Petrov lands with a nice body punch. Petrov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hradek circles away quickly and effectively.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice cross by Petrov. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Petrov lands a jab to Hradek's midsection. Hradek darts in looking for a takedown but Petrov gets double underhooks and turns Hradek into the cage. Petrov looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. No luck for Hradek with that takedown attempt. Despite the aggression on Petrov's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Fedor Petrov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Petrov misses with a series of wild punches.
Hradek looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Petrov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Oooooh!!! Petrov has knocked Hradek down with a huge combo! Petrov steps away and waves a wobbly Hradek back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
It looks like Jan Hradek has been cut. Petrov throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Hradek moves out of range as Petrov strikes. Hradek thinks about countering with a head kick. Hradek takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Petrov looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Petrov tries to bum rush Hradek with a series of wild strikes but Hradek uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hradek shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Petrov but Petrov pushes him off and we're back to square one. Petrov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hradek.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Petrov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hradek moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Hradek avoids the body shot from Petrov.

and Hradek counters with a flying knee. Nice. Hradek moves away from the strike by Petrov. Hradek drops his hands momentarily and Petrov takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Petrov throws a nice looking combination but Hradek bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Hradek fails with a takedown attempt. Hradek looking for a takedown here - he's got it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hradek shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Petrov but Petrov pushes him off and we're back to square one. Hradek drops his hands momentarily and Petrov takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Petrov misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hradek uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Petrov. Petrov has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Petrov swinging wildly here.

Hradek gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Petrov closes the distance and pushes Hradek back into the cage. Hradek tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Petrov smiles and moves away.
Petrov moves into the clinch. Petrov has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Hradek pulls guard. Hradek escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Petrov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Petrov wants to control from the top but Hradek keeps moving. Petrov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Petrov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hradek looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hradek is trying to keep Petrov in close.
Hradek keeping moving, preventing Petrov from controlling successfully. Petrov slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Petrov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Petrov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hradek is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Petrov is aware though and is defending well. Hradek had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Petrov defends it easily. Petrov wanted to stand there but Hradek had control of the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Petrov trying to control the position from guard on top but Hradek is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

You can see the frustration on Hradek's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Hradek is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Petrov is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Hradek is squirming around, avoiding Petrov's attempts to control the action.

Hradek is trying desperately to improve position. Petrov swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hradek is now in Petrov's guard. A big mistake from Petrov there, giving up the dominant position! Petrov is striking from the bottom but Hradek uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Petrov with the active half guard here but Hradek passes nicely into side control.
