Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Azir Zarus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ian Justino! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zarus shoots in looking for a takedown. Justino tries to sprawl out of it but Zarus keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Justino manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Justino walks into a left hand. Zarus clinches up with Justino and pushes him back against the cage. Zarus escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Justino swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Zarus holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zarus lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Zarus is figuring out what he wants to do next. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zarus escapes and gets back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Zarus shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Justino is trying to defend but Zarus finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Justino wants to get back to his feet. Zarus takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Zarus throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Zarus escapes and gets back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zarus fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Justino is out of range. Zarus darts in and clinches Justino up against the cage. Zarus breaks the clinch.
Zarus tries to clinch but Justino is having none of it. Zarus gets a takedown into half guard. Zarus escapes and gets back to his feet. Zarus has taken the fight to the clinch.
Zarus lands a nice uppercut. Zarus pushes Justino back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Justino working hard to break the clinch. Justino letting Zarus take a breather here. Zarus tries to pull guard but Justino won't allow it.

Justino looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A jab lands there for Justino. No joy there for Justino, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Justino connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Ian Justino is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Justino throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Zarus. Justino uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Zarus.
Justino changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Justino is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Zarus. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Azir Zarus dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!

Justino throws a right and a left that Zarus avoids nicely. Zarus fails with a takedown attempt. Justino waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Zarus. Justino throws a leg kick but Zarus sees it coming and moves out of range. Justino swinging wildly here.
Ian Justino seems to be getting the better of the standup. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Justino clinches up against the cage. Zarus pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zarus shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Justino's guard. Zarus throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Justino works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Justino avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Zarus won't allow Justino to get back to his feet. Zarus is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Justino really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zarus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Zarus missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are working up against the cage. Justino manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Zarus has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Justino is trying to keep an underhook but Zarus manages to get the takedown into half guard. Zarus prevents Justino from standing back up.
Zarus controlling the action here. Justino is breathing heavily. Zarus decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zarus instigates a clinch. Zarus is trying to pull guard but Justino has him pressed against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Azir Zarus. That's going to take a lot out of him. Zarus will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Justino up against the cage. Justino lands a body shot. Zarus has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Justino avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Zarus jumps guard but Justino turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Zarus jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Justino walks away with a smile on his face. Zarus gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Justino keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Justino's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Justino duly obliges. Justino slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Justino lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Justino misses with the combination.
Zarus fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Zarus misses with a takedown attempt - Justino sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Justino jabs Zarus right on the nose. Zarus blinks but takes it well. This has been an exciting period of action! Zarus needs to keep his hands up - Justino had a free shot at his head there. Justino rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Zarus moves out of range and avoids them all easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ian Justino showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Zarus's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Zarus on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Zarus darts in looking for a takedown but Justino gets double underhooks and turns Zarus into the cage. Justino rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Zarus moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Justino throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Justino looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Zarus rushes Justino and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. A head punch on the inside from Zarus fails to land. Justino is trying to break free. Zarus manages to break the clinch.

Zarus is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Justino pulls him back up using the underhooks. Justino breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Zarus shoots in and drives through. Justino sprawls well. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Justino. Justino lands a nice looking body shot.

Justino bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Zarus's head. Ian Justino seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Zarus shoots for a takedown but Justino saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A left lands for Justino. Justino scores with a hook to the body. Zarus takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Justino throws a leg kick which misses Zarus's front leg but catches the back leg as Zarus tries to avoid it. Justino connects with the punch. Zarus is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jab, jab by Justino - just one landing. Justino missing with a left hand there. Zarus was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Zarus feints and as Justino raises his hands in defense, Zarus changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Justino has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Justino wants to stand but Zarus is controlling the position. Justino wants to control but Zarus passes easily into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zarus is controlling the pace.
Zarus tries to pass to full mount but Justino defends it. Zarus slows the pace down in half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Ian Justino comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Justino has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
