Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Klaus Silverstein (ranked 3493 p4p, 298 weight class) and Charlie Patch (ranked 3940 p4p, 334 weight class). Klaus Silverstein has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Klaus Silverstein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Charlie Patch!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silverstein swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Patch.
Silverstein misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Silverstein closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Patch quickly recovers to half guard.
Patch wants to get back to full guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Silverstein's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Patch looking for a kimura from the bottom but Silverstein passes into side control!
Silverstein is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Patch will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Patch is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Silverstein is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Silverstein wants to free his trapped foot but Patch is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Patch is looking for a sweep. Silverstein is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Silverstein's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Silverstein seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Patch for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well, if Silverstein is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Patch has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silverstein moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Patch.
Patch is looking for a sweep.

Silverstein is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Silverstein is looking to take a break and control but Patch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Patch is looking for a sweep.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Patch looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Silverstein passes into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Silverstein in particular looking to stall.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Silverstein has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Silverstein throws out a loose jab but Patch uses good head movement to avoid it.

Patch tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Silverstein just stands there and leans against the cage.

Patch changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Silverstein fights it off and pushes away nicely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Patch has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Silverstein is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Patch.

Silverstein takes a little break here. Patch wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Patch manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Silverstein is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Patch can do to turn this around?

Patch is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Silverstein's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Silverstein's back!

Patch is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Silverstein defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

That was a close second round but I would say that Klaus Silverstein will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Silverstein pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Patch fails with a takedown attempt.
It looked like Silverstein was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Silverstein enables Patch to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Silverstein manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Silverstein is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Patch loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Silverstein slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Patch tries to buck Silverstein off but Silverstein is having none of it.

I would just about give that final round to Charlie Patch.
Well Silverstein has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
