The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pen forces Graves back against the cage and clinches.

Graves breaks the clinch.
Pen darts in trying to clinch

and Graves counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Pen wants to get back to his feet but Graves is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Graves won't allow Pen to sweep him here.
Graves slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Graves decides to stand back up. Graves steps back and let's Pen get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jackson Pen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pen swats away the attempt to clinch by Graves.

Graves misses with a takedown attempt - Pen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Pen lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Graves tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Pen manages to circle out of the way.

Pen has closed the distance and engaged Graves in a clinch.
Pen comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Graves circles away from the clinch attempt.

Pen closes the distance and clinches.
Graves misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Pen.
Graves drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Pen gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tua Graves. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Pen lands an elbow inside.
Oh Graves is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pen lands a left hand that snaps the head of Graves backwards.
Graves is trying to pull guard but Pen turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Pen gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Graves breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pen batters Graves with a massive right followed by a huge left! Graves is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Pen lands a final crushing right hand to drop Graves to the mat with a gruesome thud! Pen is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
