Coming up we have a middleweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Joe Bone (ranked 1740 p4p, 213 weight class) and Mike Schultz (ranked 3846 p4p, 398 weight class). Bone comes to the ring accompanied by You'll Never Walk Alone. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 16 wins and 8 losses; Joe Bone! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 23 wins and 13 losses; Mike Schultz! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Schultz gets caught napping as Bone dives in and scores a takedown. Schultz manages to retain guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Bone (2) vs (0) Schultz Schultz has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Clark's Champion's. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Bone trying to control but Schultz is working from the bottom. Schultz controlling Bone's posture. Schultz wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Bone is now in half guard. Schultz wants to control but Bone is keeping busy.
Bone is taking a breather. Schultz says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bone trying to mount his opponent but Schultz defends it. Bone is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Schultz defends it well. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schultz trying to control from the bottom.
Bone controlling the pace. Schultz is looking to control Bone's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Schultz avoid being mounted? Bone is keen to just control but Schultz is a slippery customer. Schultz is looking for a sweep. Bone is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schultz wants to control but Bone is keeping busy and won't allow it. Bone wants to control but Schultz is keeping him busy. Bone is figuring out what he wants to do next. Schultz is refusing to be controlled, as Bone sits in half guard. Schultz is trying to control but Bone manages to pass to mount!
Score +3 for passing guard: Bone (5) vs (0) Schultz Schultz tries to reverse the position but Bone maintains control. Schultz tries to improve his position but Bone has taken his back! Bone has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Schultz tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Bone pushes Schultz away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
