Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Irrawaddy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Dwight! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dwight misses with a combination
and Irrawaddy counters with a straight right hand. Dwight throws a series of punches but Irrawaddy avoids them all with ease. Dwight throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Irrawaddy on the side of the head. Dwight misses with a wild combination.
Irrawaddy with a body punch. A glancing blow. Dwight throws a sloppy head kick and Irrawaddy counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Dwight fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nice body punch from Irrawaddy. No joy there for Dwight, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dwight pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dwight throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Irrawaddy moves into range and connects with a jab. Dwight throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Irrawaddy. Dwight closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Dwight is rocked! Dwight throws a series of punches but Irrawaddy avoids them all with ease. Dwight is still on wobbly legs! Can Irrawaddy finish him? Irrawaddy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Dwight looks winded! Irrawaddy throws a monster overhand right that drops Dwight! Irrawaddy follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ken Irrawaddy!
