Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Mendes (ranked 23211 p4p, 489 weight class) and Josh Jon (ranked 4560 p4p, 395 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fernando Mendes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Josh Jon! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jon slaps away a takedown attempt from Mendes, before circling back to the center of the mat. Mendes dives in for a single leg takedown but Jon sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Mendes shoots in for a takedown but Jon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fernando Mendes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jon clinches. Jon pulls guard effortlessly. Jon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mendes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Mendes tries to free his leg and advance position but Jon is retaining full guard. Mendes is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jon is in trouble!
