Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rodney Alcala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Crack Head!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alcala lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Head at a distance.
Head takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Alcala lands an overhand right.
Alcala lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Alcala scores with the left hand. Head knows he should have avoided that one.
Alcala falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Head counter with a right hand.
Alcala scores with a punch to the head.
Head's coach down at HARDCORE MMA (max 2 per session) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Head's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
A head kick from Alcala lands but Head takes it in his stride.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Head steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Alcala. That one must have hurt.
Alcala ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Alcala throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Head stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Head scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Alcala scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Head doesn't seem bothered though.

Alcala lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Head with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Alcala to score with a decent uppercut.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rodney Alcala will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

and Head counters with a huge right that knocks Alcala out cold! Head is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
