Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Granger (ranked 762 p4p, 94 weight class) and Rich Silva Jr (ranked 521 p4p, 70 weight class). Granger comes to the cage accompanied by CHXPO - FPS. Silva Jr has chosen Sleeping Giant as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Rich Silva Jr was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Granger misses the jab.
Silva Jr wants to counter the offense by Granger and move into the clinch position.
Silva Jr clinches.
Silva Jr lands with a left to the head.
Silva Jr lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Silva Jr tries to throw a body punch but Granger avoids it by throwing Silva Jr back against the cage.
Granger is trying to force a seperation but Silva Jr has the dominant position.
A short body shot lands from Granger as the two fighters clinch.
Silva Jr lands a hook that snaps the head of Granger backwards.
Silva Jr fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Silva Jr manages to pull guard.
Our spies down at at Oblivion Gate inform us that Silva Jr has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Silva Jr is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Granger defends well.

Granger wants to stand but Silva Jr has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Granger trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva Jr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Granger with a flurry of punches that miss.

Granger stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva Jr swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Silva Jr is controlling Granger's posture.
Silva Jr is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Silva Jr is looking to cinch up a triangle. Granger throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Silva Jr's body to avoid the submission. Silva Jr has instead reached around Granger's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Silva Jr arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Rich Silva Jr!
A very excited looking Rich Silva Jr made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
Frank Granger was interviewed post fight and said 'This is a momentary setback; a stinging defeat, but I will recover from it. A true warrior's strength is not how well he overcomes his foes, it's how well he deals with setbacks, obstacles, and adversity. I will rise again!'.
