PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hugh Honey (ranked 264 p4p, 32 weight class) and Anti Half Assed (ranked 467 p4p, 57 weight class). Honey comes to the cage accompanied by Higher Love. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hugh Honey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anti Half Assed!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Honey throws a low kick but it's checked well by Half Assed.
A looping hook to the body misses from Honey. Half Assed does a little dance to reset his feet.
Half Assed staying out of range there.
Honey has been working on his boxing with his coaches at King's Cross MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Honey misses with a left hand
and Half Assed counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Half Assed fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Honey looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Half Assed ducks under a wild hook from Honey.
Honey finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Half Assed takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Honey throws a hook to the side of Half Assed's head but Half Assed sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Half Assed shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Honey as he jumps to the side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Honey slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Half Assed has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Half Assed ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Half Assed lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Honey at a distance.
Honey missing with a left hand there. Half Assed was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Half Assed lands a really nice looking cross but Honey seems unphased.

Honey thows a leg kick but Half Assed checks it
and Half Assed cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Half Assed bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Honey on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
A swing and a miss from Half Assed.

Half Assed tries to clinch up

Half Assed tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Honey paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Half Assed is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Honey had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Nice straight punches there by Half Assed. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Half Assed.

Honey is rocked!

Honey tries to keep at a distance but Half Assed has taken the fight into the clinch.
Oh Honey is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A nice left hand lands by Half Assed.
Honey blocking some punches.
Half Assed lands a right hand that snaps the head of Honey backwards.
Half Assed creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Honey with a big uppercut! Honey tries to clinch up but Half Assed pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Honey to the mat! Honey covers up and Half Assed unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Anti Half Assed!
