Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Connor MacLeod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albert Ashton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Connor MacLeod has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Connor MacLeod! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Albert Ashton! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! MacLeod is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ashton. Ashton slips under a jab from MacLeod. MacLeod throws a hook but Ashton blocks it. MacLeod misses with a looping right. Ashton uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from MacLeod. Ashton moves away from the strike by MacLeod. MacLeod connects with a right hand. Ashton shakes it off. Ashton closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. MacLeod is not content to let Ashton control the position. Ashton decides to stand back up. Ashton steps back and let's MacLeod get back to his feet. Ashton slips a jab from MacLeod. Ashton looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Ashton postures up and lands a big shot to MacLeod's brow. Ashton is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. MacLeod knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ashton on the ground. Ashton wants to control from the top but MacLeod keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ashton gets to his feet - MacLeod follows without any prompting. MacLeod gets caught flat footed, as Ashton shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Ashton is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Ashton looking to pass the guard. Ashton looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. MacLeod wants to stand and escape but Ashton is having none of it. MacLeod avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Ashton trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ashton trying to control but MacLeod is working from the bottom. Ashton pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. MacLeod is keeping the position for now. Ashton is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Ashton gets a takedown into half guard. MacLeod is not content to let Ashton control the position. Ashton is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, MacLeod has managed to free his arm - good work. Ashton is looking for a kimura here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ashton is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and MacLeod defends it well. Ashton is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, MacLeod has managed to free his arm - good work. MacLeod looks like he's trying to stand up.

Albert Ashton dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Ashton avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Ashton shoots in and bounces MacLeod off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. MacLeod keeping moving, preventing Ashton from controlling successfully. Ashton is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. MacLeod utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Ashton loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Ashton throwing strikes but missing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ashton slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. MacLeod throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Ashton closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Ashton tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ashton has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's two minutes gone in the round. MacLeod wants to get back to his feet. Ashton is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but MacLeod is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Ashton stands up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ashton uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from MacLeod. Ashton fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. MacLeod sprawls well initially but Ashton persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Ashton in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. MacLeod tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Ashton!
