Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sasha Rua (ranked 1497 p4p, 185 weight class) and Mickey Garcia (ranked 2352 p4p, 288 weight class). Rua's entrance music is Champion. A fine choice. Garcia has chosen S.G. Sinnicks - St Patrick Battalion as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rua manages to avoid it.
Rua fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Garcia, pushing him back against the cage.
Rua is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Rua's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rua will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Rua cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A looping hook to the body misses from Garcia. Rua does a little dance to reset his feet.

Garcia tries to pull guard but Rua forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Garcia bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rua's guard.
Garcia prevents Rua from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Garcia lands a couple of digs.
Rua knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Garcia on the ground.
Garcia working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Garcia has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Garcia is standing up over Rua. Rua looks to escape but Garcia dives into side control.
Garcia scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Rua to see if he's OK.

Garcia works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Garcia cracks Rua with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Garcia immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Rua is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Garcia!
