Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between George Mako (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stafford Shire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George Mako!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stafford Shire!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shire wants to clinch.
Mako avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Stafford Shire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mako tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Shire tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mako swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mako takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Mako looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shire is fending him off so far but Mako persists. Nope, Shire circles away and we're back to standing.
Shire lands with a nice combination. Mako backs away looking to recover.
Shire lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Shire dodges the punch combination from Mako.
Nice sprawl there from Shire as Mako shoots in.

Shire clinches with his opponent.

Shire breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Shire fails with an attempt to clinch.
Shire is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A bone on bone clash there as Shire blocks the leg kick.
Mako swings for the body but Shire moves out of range.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Mako crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Shire - the referee stops the clock and Mako gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Shire. Mako manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mako dodges the punch combination from Shire.
Shire shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mako but Mako pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Shire clinches up with Mako and pushes him back against the cage.

Shire manages to break the clinch.

Shire fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mako, pushing him back against the cage.
Shire unloads a knee to the mid-section. Mako lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Mako takes an elbow to the temple.
Mako prevents a takedown attempt there.

Shire escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mako throws a left and a right that both miss

and Shire decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mako's guard.
Shire trying to control the position from guard on top but Mako is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shire wants to pass the guard but Mako is keeping the position.

Mako kicks Shire off and gets to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mako throws a lazy head kick
and Shire counters with a big head kick but Mako shrugs it off.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mako throws a head kick that misses.
Shire throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mako's waist but Mako gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shire off to one side.
George Mako has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stafford Shire.
Mako throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Shire's head.

It looks like Stafford Shire has been cut.
Shire looks gassed!
Shire tries to clinch up.

Mako bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Shire is rocked!

Mako has an Americana. Shire didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Mako is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Mako hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
