Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kybeau Ren (ranked 24011 p4p, 529 weight class) and Jesse Ristinen (ranked 3458 p4p, 377 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ren fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ristinen on the side of the head.

Ristinen rushes Ren and presses him up against the cage.
Ren stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Ren makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Ren breaks from the clinch.
Ren definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Ristinen throws a body punch but Ren moves out of range.
Ristinen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ren moves away.
Ren throwing a counter right hand but Ristinen manages to avoid it.
Ristinen rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Ren connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ren throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ristinen with the counter takedown but Ren avoids it easily.
Ristinen throws a body shot but no joy.
Ristinen looks to score with a jab to the body but Ren is just out of range.

Ristinen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ren.
Ristinen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ristinen closes the distance looking to clinch
and Ren counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ristinen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ren manages to avoid it.
Ren lands a nice looking body shot.
Ristinen throws a sloppy body shot
and Ren counters with a straight right hand.
Jesse Ristinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ren cracks Ristinen with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Ren has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Ristinen to stand back up!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ren slips a jab and a cross from Ristinen.
Ren was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Ristinen wants to clinch.
Ren throws a big counter combination but Ristinen scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Ristinen connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Ristinen throws a jab when Ren was well out of range.
Ristinen misses with a wild body shot.
Ren is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Ren takes a swing at Ristinen's ribcage but misses.
Good standup being displayed there by Ren as he connects with a hook.
Ristinen's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ren connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ristinen scrambles back to his feet.
Ristinen throws a series of punches but Ren moves out of range.
A little feinted left hand from Ren on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Ren gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Ristinen tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ren smiles and moves away.
Ristinen ducks under a wild hook from Ren.
Ren lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Sloppy strikes from Ren. Those never looked like landing.
Kybeau Ren is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Ren gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ren misses with a punch to the body.
Ristinen fails to pull guard.

Ren escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kybeau Ren dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

No joy there for Ren, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Ren seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

and Ristinen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Ren counters with a crisp one two that drops Ristinen! Ren thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Ristinen to his feet! Ristinen is in big trouble!

Ristinen is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Ren rather than just go for the knockout.
Ristinen takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Ren closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Ristinen! Ren dives in looking to finish! Ristinen is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
