Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Warner AZ (ranked 2928 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dexter King (ranked 4303 p4p, 0 weight class). King has chosen Its Time to TAP as his entrance music. Warner AZ has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Warner AZ!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dexter King!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
AZ fails with an attempt to clinch.
AZ fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

King drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

AZ has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. King has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
King can't get the takedown.
AZ slows down the pace here.
AZ really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
King is looking to take this one to the mat.

AZ manages to break the clinch.
AZ is looking to clinch but King is avoiding it.
AZ shoots in for a takedown but King shows good takedown defense.

AZ appears to be looking for a big counter.

AZ closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
King is looking to reverse the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

AZ is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. King knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
King is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on AZ's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
AZ wants to pass the guard but King is defending well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dexter King will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


King defends well against a solid takedown attempt from AZ.

AZ clinches.
King wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but AZ has him pressed against the cage.
King can't get the takedown.
AZ is looking for a takedown up against the cage. King gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

AZ is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. King can't fight it off and eventually AZ manages to take the fight to the floor. King looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

King has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but AZ can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
King is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

King is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, AZ has managed to free his arm - good work.

AZ is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

AZ pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nice takedown defense from King. No joy for AZ on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Warner AZ. That's going to take a lot out of him.
AZ shoots in for a double leg but King sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
King tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
King should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
AZ plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
AZ shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says King as he avoids it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

King feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

AZ uses the cage to get back to his feet.

King shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than King was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
King moves into full mount!

King has hold of AZ's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and AZ manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

King working for a guillotine from mount but AZ is in no mood to give up.

King fails to advance to AZ's back.

King goes for an armbar but AZ turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from AZ.
King is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
AZ trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
King looking for a sweep. Not yet King, not yet.
AZ will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

King pushes a forearm under AZ's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, AZ is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Dexter King!
